So, naps.
Do you take them ever?
If so, do you wake up feeling fresh as a daisy?
Or do they wreck the rest of your day?

Inspired by an EVERYTHING IS RUINED & I HATE MY LIFE hour-long nap I took earlier.

A Movie's soundtrack can have a massive part to play in delivering the message to the audience.
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?

Mine- The Graduate.

TV
As usual the last week or 2 of Dec are mostly dead times on TV due to all of the holiday shows, sports days, and holiday movies. With that in mind, what are show, either new or returning, are you most looking forward to this coming January?

Me it's a toss up between Castle 1/11 and Caprica 1/22.

What heartwarming stories have you heard in the recent past? It's been a rough year and I want to spread some positivity heading into 2010.

We'll start with the train driver who rescued a wounded owl and follow up with the kitty rescued from a busy highway.

Yeah there might be a bit of a theme here so far but feel free to bring on your own pleasant stories of any theme :)

Imagine you're a 24 year old who's just moved back in with family and is applying to work at the gas station down the road. You have literally no work experience, but 6 years ago you unofficially helped out at a few times at a greenhouse attached to the store your uncle owned and has since sold. So, you're imagining you're me.

My question is, would you lie on the application by saying you worked at your uncle's store (he's agreed to back you up if they call) or just write that you have no experience? He'll say you not only did jobs you didn't do at the store itself, but that is was also much more recently.

My only worry is that I don't actually know anything about working at a store and have never used even a cash register before so it seems like I could too easily be caught in the lie and regret it.

Alright, AMA, help my boyfriend out.

A few nights ago he went to a strip club with his friends and according to him, a cracked out stripper gave him a kiss on the lips (he thought she was aiming for the cheek). He's been fretting ever since about STDs and I'm not sure what he could even GET from a peck on the lips, if anything.

Is he going to get herpagonasyphilitus, AMA? Serious and non-serious replies welcomed!

Do you choose your friends according to their looks, their character or their intelligence?
I know the answer is usually a combination of 2 or more of these traits, but lets pretend everything is black and white and you have to choose one option.

I want to make fortune cookies for the new years party I'm going to tomorrow. I want the phrases inside to be amusing. I've been googling and not really found much I enjoy. Please enlighten me with some you'd enjoy cracking open?

If you (an adult - and possibly your partner as well) go out to dinner with your parents, who picks up the bill?

Do you usually split amongst couples or do your parents pay for everyone?

how do YOU define virginity/loss of virginity?

do you think someone can lost their virginity via oral sex? handjobs? etc...or do you think it is only vaginal/anal intercourse that constitutes loss of virginity?

I recently clicked the wrong box while making a purchase on Amazon (a Target product) and so the package was delivered to my old address, under my name.

It was sent using UPS.

I called the old building manager but he told me to call UPS. I called UPS and they told me to contact Target/Amazon. I have a feeling Target is going to be even more useless.

I'm thinking of sending a letter to the current residents asking them to either contact me or drop the box off with a neighbor who is a friend of mine. Is it illegal for the current resident to open the package? What would you do? Should I just drop it?

Any answers would be appreciated. And yes, I do feel like a fool.

Yesterday I woke up with that stiff, "slept in a strange position" feeling in my neck and upper back. But instead of going away over the course of the day, it got progressively worse. I couldn't sleep last night because there was no position I could lie in that didn't hurt. I can't hold my head up straight or turn it to the left. My back/neck/shoulders hurt constantly. A friend suggested to me that it might be a pinched nerve.

I have tried Advil and IcyHot to no avail. The only person I know who is skilled enough in massage therapy to be able to do something about this is 3,000 miles away. I'm planning on buying a heating pad after work tonight.

Aside from those things, is there anything else I can do to make the pain go away?

Inspired by a comment left by mofoburrell on directordale's post which was inspired by noreentry's comment on mofoburrell's post:

For those living outside the US, especially in non-English speaking countries: Do y'all have anything like The Onion, and if so, would you link us to it? I'm interested to see if that particular form of satire/parody is as popular elsewhere in the world.

Do any of you have experience being (or employing) an au pair?
I think this is something I'm interested in doing after graduation this May, but I will have student loans to pay off and I'm just wondering how I would go about paying them off while being in a foreign country and not necessarily making very much money. Has anyone been in this position before?

Thanks!

If you were to donate 100 dollars to the charity of your choice, what charity would you donate to and why?

I would donate to a charity that helps abused children from violent families. I was abused as a kid so it hits closer to home with me.
